GAIA – Supervisory Platform
GAIA is an intelligent platform that addresses different aspects of monitoring, using autonomous sensor nodes. The sensor network includes data of various types, and is part of a modular management system adapted to the users’ needs, and accessible from any device with Internet access.
Each sensor node can transmit sensor readings directly to the Cloud via GPRS/3G or WiFi connections. In the case of several nodes located in the same zone, an intermediate Gateway can be employed for collecting data and connecting to the Internet through different options. In case connectivity fails, data can be stored in an internal data base.
The GAIA platform integrates more than 50 different sensors, adapting to any scenario such as air and water pollution, smart cities, security and industrial control, agriculture monitoring, etc.

Ambient Control: Ultrasounds (distance measurement), Noise, Presence, Hall effect, Water presence, Liquid level, Liquid flow, Temperature, Humidity, Luminosity
High performance: the platform is designed with a focus in performance and the handling of thousands of data.
− Modular and extensible: enlarge the platform functionality without modifying the core system.
− Horizontal scalability: allowing an easy distribution of load.
− Cross platform: designed as a cross product not focused in any concrete business requirement, fleeing from vertical solutions.
− Simple interface: it provides a simple, easy to use and intuitive interface.
− Statistics module: records and displays basic platform performance indicators.
− Infrastructure and administration console: manages the devices installed and the users (providers and applications).
− Security module
− Monitoring of sensors including sensor incident management
The benefits obtained by using the GAIA Platform are:
− Escape from ITC vertical “closed” solutions.
− Reduce dependency on specific technologies, solutions or providers
− Avoid isolated compartments where the applications cannot access data from other applications.
− Minimize duplicity and multiplicity of data and infrastructures
− Lower investments and maintenance costs.
